Questions

Questions people ask before a refresh

If yours isn't here, call Ngozi. She'd rather you ask.

Will anyone push me to decide?

No. You get one written plan, a phone call to go over it, and then we wait. If you haven't called back in a few weeks we send one short note, and after that it's up to you.

Can my daughter or son set it up from another city?

Yes. Family can call, text, agree the plan and pay from anywhere. We still confirm each visit with you by phone, and we send a photo of every finished room.

What is on the written plan?

Which rooms, the repairs, the number of coats, the paint and sheen, the colors, cleanup, the dates, what it costs and how payment works. We can print it in large type.

What isn't on it?

Repairs we find once the paint is off the wall, like soft trim or a hidden crack, and extra colors you add later. We tell you, price it, and wait for your yes before we do it.

Do I have to be home, and will it smell?

You can be home or out. We finish one room before the next and keep the rest of the house closed off. We open the windows and run a fan, and the paint's data sheet is yours to read: just ask for it.

Who moves the furniture?

We do. We move it, cover it, and put it back where it was. Callum takes a photo before we start, so nothing ends up in the wrong place.

My house was built before 1978. Does that change anything?

Homes built before 1978 may have lead in old paint. The EPA's rule for renovation, repair and painting covers paid work that disturbs paint in these homes, and the firm doing it has to be EPA certified for that work. Tell us the year when you call. If your home is covered, we close off the room with plastic, never dry-sand or burn paint, clean up with a HEPA vacuum, and hand you the EPA's lead pamphlet before we start. Our firm number is in the footer.

How long does a room take?

Most bedrooms take one to two days and most living rooms two to three. Your plan lists the days. If something takes longer we call you before we go on.

Which paint do you use, and who buys it?

We buy premium paint. You can ask which one, and for the data sheet, before the day starts. Matte for bedrooms, a washable finish for kitchens and halls, a harder one for trim.

How do plans work, and how do I stop one?

A plan is a calendar of visits. You can stop between visits by phone or text, and nothing more is owed for visits that haven't happened. Plans aren't insurance or a warranty.

Is there a deposit, and when do I pay?

That depends on the size of the job. Your written plan says what is due, when, and how family can pay for you.

What does the warranty cover?

Peeling or blistering that comes from our workmanship. Terms, limits and exclusions are in your written warranty.

Do you help with colors?

Yes. Leila brings swatches to the wall and looks at them in your light, morning and evening. Send a photo or a paint chip if you'd like to start before she comes.

Do you work on weekends, or in bad weather?

Visits are Monday to Friday. Outside work waits for dry mornings, and we call you when a day moves.
